Advantages over conventional salt walls
General advantages over conventional systems:
  • Simpler construction (like a bathroom cabinet)
  • Light-transmitting joint material
  • Can be placed freely on the wall like a picture
  • Does not have to be raised from the floor, thus requiring less material
  • No plinth required
  • Can be extended sideways, upwards or downwards as required
Advantages over bonded salt walls:
  • Much simpler construction
  • No more cutting of bricks required
  • No dust
  • No vapours caused by adhesives
  • Can be dismantled and reassembled as required
  • Each salt brick is replaceable
Advantages over rail systems:
  • No annoying shadows caused by rails
  • The salt brick positioning is completely free and not tied to a pre-numbered position, as is the case with rail systems.
  • Aluminium corrosion as long-term damage is ruled out, in contrast to rail systems with aluminium rails.
  • Bright joints; with rail systems, the aluminium rails prevent exactly that.
  • All individual parts are supplied complete. There is no need to measure, saw or buy any parts yourself at the DIY store, which is often the case with rail systems.

Salt Wall Systems

Simple installation

With the salt wall system from Pramodan & Dinesh, you can create a salt wall easily, quickly and cleanly.

Installation is as simple as mounting a standard wall cabinet. A grid is attached to the wall using special brackets, and then the salt bricks are hung in it.

All salt wall systems come with a drilling template for easier installation. In the Standard and Complete kits, the back plate also serves as a drilling template. The Basic kit comes with an extra drilling template.

Two threaded pins are screwed into two pre-drilled holes in each salt brick using a cordless screwdriver. With the basic kit, special brackets are screwed directly onto the wall, while with the standard kit, the back plate is first mounted on the wall and then the brackets are attached to it. With these two systems, you use your own light bulbs. In the complete kit, on the other hand, the light sources, our SALUX® warm light boards together with a power supply unit, are already mounted on the back plate and ready for connection. In all three systems, a grid is attached to the brackets, into which the bricks are then hooked using threaded pins – and the salt wall is ready!

Can be placed anywhere on the wall

The salt wall system can be placed anywhere on the wall, like a picture, and expanded upwards or sideways with additional modules as desired.

For example, two square metres of salt wall are to be created above a bed. Previously, using conventional bricklaying methods, this would have required at least two additional square metres of salt bricks, which would not be visible at all because they would disappear behind the bed. With our salt wall system, the two square metres can simply hang above the bed like a picture – a salt picture – and no bricks are lost.

Individual modules can also be mounted on the wall next to each other with a small gap between them, creating several small salt walls that serve as wall lamps, so to speak.

Easy dismantling

The salt wall system can be dismantled at any time and reassembled elsewhere.

This is a considerable advantage in rented flats and leased properties, or if you want to move the salt wall, for example due to renovations. It is advisable to leave the threaded pins in the salt bricks, as repeated screwing in and out can cause the salt to break out.

Assembly examples

The modules can be arranged horizontally and vertically as desired.

The salt bricks are hung in the grid in a staggered pattern. This creates the offset typical of brick walls. When several modules are placed next to or on top of each other, a uniform masonry and joint pattern is formed. When viewed from above, the individual modules are no longer recognisable as such, but only as a uniform salt wall surface.

The Salt Wall System is available in three versions: basic, standard and complete kit.

The basic kit does not include a light source or back plate. The standard kit includes a back plate, a cover panel for dust protection and side panels for privacy. The complete kit is also ready to connect and comes with a light source for even, warm and harmonious light, the SALUX® warm light boards developed by us especially for salt walls for a unique light and warmth effect.

They are powered by an extra-flat 12-volt power supply and are pre-mounted on the back plate. Each board is equipped with miniature bulbs, whose light evenly bathes the salt wall in a harmonious colour tone and whose pleasant warmth is immediately noticeable because the rock salt allows most of the heat radiation to pass through. Over time, the salt bricks also heat up. This light and heat effect creates a unique feel-good atmosphere. For the basic and standard kits, the appropriate light bulbs are installed by the customer.

An Oekotex-certified foam strip is placed or clamped between the salt bricks. It fulfils two functions: firstly, it serves as a light-conducting jointing material, causing the foam to glow gently in the colour of the salt light and, unlike a glued salt wall, even the joints glow. And secondly: when looking directly at the light source through an open joint,

Salt wall coverings for your living spaces

The salt wall system from Pramodan & Dinesh can be installed almost anywhere. It can be hung in the living room or children's room, in the office or in a gym – almost any room is suitable.

There are no restrictions on size either. It can be a single module in a child's bedroom, practical like a wall lamp. Or a set of four (i.e. four modules together) as a small salt wall covering in a waiting room. It is not necessary to cover the entire wall. With our salt wall system, it is also easy to create salt wall strips at specific intervals. For example, two modules on top of each other, then a gap and again two modules on top of each other, etc. In this way, rooms can be bathed in salt light without necessarily having to cover the entire wall surface.

Due to the high humidity, bathrooms, kitchens and steam rooms are not suitable for salt walls, as the salt will dissolve over time. Garden gazebos are also not suitable, as they are usually unheated, which leads to condensation and high humidity throughout the year. Of course, this does not apply if appropriate dehumidifiers are used.
